For the past two years we have kept the Passover and Unleavened Bread. Of course this was very new to us and and different. It was quite an experience to clean the leaven out of every nook and cranny in our house. Must have been much simpler in Bible times when houses were smaller… Leaven symbolizes sin. Getting the yeast, baking soda, baking powder out of our house was a hard, but it is even harder for me to get the sin out of me. I need to search my soul for sin, confess and repent, not an easy thing to do. Keeping these feasts help me to search my heart, unlike the pagan holidays that I used to keep. The feasts bring me closer to my Heavenly Father and His Son. We are also closer as a husband and wife, and as a famly.
The first Passover that we kept, our family washed one other’s feet. My husband, brought a pan of warm water, washed and dried my feet, and prayed for me. What a beautiful experience. One I will never forget.
John 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
The second time that we kept Passover/Unleavened Bread we held a gathering on our property. We had a good time fellow shipping together, studying the Bible, feasting, singing and relaxing. We have a primitive campground for our feast gatherings. Let us know if you would like to come to our next gathering in April (gregorian date)
3 Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.4 And there shall be no leavened bread seen with thee in all thy coast seven days; neither shall there any thing of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at even, remain all night until the morning.

Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.
1 Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto the Lord thy God: for in the month of Abib the Lord thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.2 Thou shalt therefore sacrifice the passover unto the Lord thy God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which the Lord shall choose to place his name the
Leviticus 23:4 These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord‘s passover.6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.
Matthew 26: 17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.
1 Corininthain 5: 6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
You may be thinking to yourself ” But I was taught the Feasts were done away with, you know, nailed to the tree (cross)”. We will look into this on a later post. Happy studying, learning, and growing.
